If the “alternative” comix selection at Reading Frenzy just isn’t cutting it for ya, because maybe, just maybe, you want the newest issue of Green Lantern, then head here. Excalibur is probably the best (and oldest, since 1976) of the traditional comic book stores in town (the other comic shops in Portland are pretty scary places). I mean, c’mon! They got Howard the Duck pulling a sword out of a stone on their sign (illustration done by Frank Brunner, the original Howard the Duck artist!) How old school can you get? Pick up your Marvel Comics fix, get some backing boards, argue with the counter-jock about the Fantastic Four movie, and get in a debate about who would win in a fight: Wolverine or Spawn? (If you are a comics geek, you will understand every damn word I just said). They have a decent selection of alt-comix as well. And don’t forget, new comics day is Wednesday!
