More of a cultural institution than a pizza place, Rocco’s offers refuge to all the “beautiful losers” who sometimes inhabit this fastly fancifying district. Rare is the hour that Rocco’s is not fronted by a gaggle of mohawked, studded kids. They are the true purveyors of the“punk-rock” pizza slice: an ungodly mound of cheese on bland crust which will conquer the nastiest of coffeeguts, followed by hours of mindless, drooling digestion. But that slice is large and cheap ($3 for cheese). They also offer vegan slices plus an adjoining bar.
